Post War of Honor : some work to do !
Hi,

Maybe some of you have already read that link :
http://lafiertedulion.ephpbb.com/t1115- ... gacy-games

Even if it comes from a French Forum, the post is written in English.

Is the Legacy Council going to do something about that upcoming product to adapt it to the Legacy Format ?

Regards,
Rémi

It's possible.

We're going to do a lot of work when the new edition hits later this year. And a patch could make it onto the agenda.

But personally, I think Legacy should be played old school style. It'll go to a vote though.

"When the War of Honor floor rules are released, there will be a list of banned cards from the format. In Time of War is one of those for just the reasons you mention."

Hi,

I've read that Kempy, thanks a lot !
I've posted those questions because I would like to know is going to work on the Legacy version of War of Honor. If the council doesn't, I feel free to think that nobody will do it "officialy" and so we'll never get anything dedicated to old faction.

As your quotes means : "Wait and see", by the way I fear to be disappointed.

Hey, could you tell more about that please ? Many players thinks that Legacy is useless because too fast. War of Honor could slow the game and add some old school multiplayer strategies.

Rémi.

One of the problems is that adapting legacy to WoH format will cause all sorts of problems. Unless you're using classic mode, in which case you're basically just playing multiplayer legacy with extra abilities(/snore), The lack of tracking honor between turns makes for massive swings in decks that abuse the lack of honor tracking. Being able to run all the free gold and reset to starting honor every turn is just stupid. also cards that key off being lower in honor like dark lords favor, sagoten(es with unbow jank). Or using cards like oyo seido/lesser shrine/ten thousand temples to just rocket up 8 honor, then reset every turn.

I'm not honestly sure how we could possibly make all Legacy cards work with WoH. I'm assuming the list of banned cards provided by AEG will be quite lengthy and will save us a lot of worry.

And if we decide to do something with it, it'll give us some hints as to what to look at.

But really, we can't make any final decisions until the product is out.

For cards last printed without the LOTUS or SAMURAI EDITION bug:
Abilities and actions

An action may be taken any number of times per turn unless otherwise stated on the card.

The only issue I have with this product is some of the new unbugged cards. They get around the once per turn rule per. I assume Celestial and Emperor edition will eventually be put on that list. The War of honor rulebook mention that actions are OPT for the game it selfs rules but that is the WoH rules not the default Legacy rules.

The big card in question being the new holding, Disreputable House. For those who do not have the product it reads: 2 gold cost, bow for 2 gold, geisha house, Open: Bow and target a player: That players loses 2 honor.

I understand this card was designed for the War of Honor mechanic but the fact that these cards are legacy legal and the amount of holding straitening that is available might make this one a problem.

There are much much faster ways of Dishonor bombing available and Legacy and this is just another lose 2 card. Though I'll definitely include this in my Dishonor Deck, this is NOT your biggest concern in Legacy Dishonor.

We'll have to tweak the wording of that rule. If a card was printed under a OPT ruleset then under Legacy we intend that the card should be OPT unless it explicitly breaks the rule.
