Post EE Updates: Council Votes!
First on the line is the Older Card Interpretation list, including the OPT section.

1. Get rid of it.
2. Get rid of it, but leave a note pointing to the Oracle for reference.
3. Leave it in.

Next is the Formations entry.

1. Get rid of it.
2. Get rid of it but make a note for Strategy sub-types (Formations, Kata, Kiho, Tattoo, Terrain) noting that cards that refer to these, refer to Strategies with the Specific Keyword.
3. Leave it in.

Next is Stronghold destruction.

1. Add a rule preventing Strongholds from being destroyed or removed from the game, except by cards that specifically interact with Strongholds (like Iron Citadel).
2. Don't add the rule.

I think that's everything on the block right now. If I missed something, remind me.

As far as I can tell the rules are not in conflict with the Oracle and could come in handy if the Oracle stops being supported. I would support putting in something like "All cards will be played by the text found in the Oracle of the Void."

Pardon my hubris, but I see the Oracle being supported for far longer than the Conversion Rules. For example, I mostly stopped supporting the conversion rules after SE, and I've definitely stopped now that the Oracle exists. Basically, I can see no likely scenario where any player will have access to the former and not the latter, rendering the former redundant (as well as less official and potentially more flawed).

And I voted 2 on the last one, because there already IS such a Rule in the EE CR under Card Type: Strongholds; I can't link it right now, because I can't access alderac sites from my work, but trust me that it's there. ;)

It doesn't come up if you search for Stronghold(s), but it's there, I found it. You have to specifically go to the EE text block section, look under card types, and it's there. It's pretty much exactly what we were talking about, right down to the and this "part makes Iron Citadel work" clause of actions specifying Strongholds to be an exception. Annoying that the search function's a dud though.

As usual, I've held off my vote until the ball is rolling to keep a semblance of neutrality which my position demands.

But now...

2. (I think with large chunks going out, that we should point to the Oracle in case people were unaware of it).
1. (try to do away with redundancy).
2. (try to do away with redundancy).

The Oracle basically makes all of those annoying restrictions we put in to make old cards work properly irrelevant, and the Oracle won't be going away unless the game itself does. That said, I do think that we make a note that all cards play as written in the Oracle, so I suppose 2 would be the closest thing for me to pick in Vote 1.

Ergo:
2
1
2

Here it is:

Yeah, Yamakori, the Search function of the wiki is horrid; sorry.

And I'm changing my first vote to "2". Why would I not want to advertise the Oracle? Duh! I guess I was just feeling like diametrically opposing Ken's votes. :P Nothin' but love, Mr. Shaw! :D

Assuming no one changes their vote in a short span of time, that's now 4 votes majority for 2, 1, 2.

Not officially closed yet though, but I don't see too many changes.

I'm going to go with 2-1-2 as well. Thanks for the link on the stronghold immunity! That actually came up a few weeks ago lol.

Alright, one more 2, 1, 2, and no more vote changes in days. Six out of seven Council members represented.

I think I'll call it here.

Old Card Interpretations sections will be replaced with a note, saying that cards are to be played by the wording in the Oracle.

The Section regarding Formations is to be removed, as the rules are effectively included in the Oracle entries for the Formation cards.

No rule regarding SH's will be added, as there already was one hiding away in the Rules Wiki already.

----

Here's the text I'm proposing to replace the OCI section:

Card Interpretations

All cards are to be played by the text as written in the Oracle of the Void (http://imperialassembly.com/oracle). The Oracle overrides the Old Cards Interpretations section in previous Legacy documents, and the text as printed on all Legend of the Five Rings cards.

Oh, and um... did you want to vote on un-banning A Favor Returned? I sort of fixed it:

So that was your doing, huh? :P Sure, we can do a vote.

Can you get the Legacy Rules Wiki section updated? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, that's been on my to-do list for some time, but I imagine I'll have it done within the week... I hope. :P

There's still "L5R Open Format (rules current to Celestial Edition)" in the title.
